March is just about to wrap up and it's been an awesome month! I cannot wait to tell you everything that's been happening this past month so let's get started!

Writing Life

I've just been writing a couple of contemporary romance stories that I'm really enjoying and I may be sharing with y'all in the future!

I've also been beta-reading a little bit for some friends with all my Skillful Pen Press duties.

Do you guys think that I should have a led magnet for my author site? Maybe it could be the ebook of Chasing After Butterflies or something like that.

Company Updates

We announced our brand-new poetry anthology at the beginning of the month and submissions are open for a couple more days! If you'd like to find out more or submit, feel free to visit Skillful Pen Press and go to 'Upcoming'.

I would absolutely love to see a submission from you! But be sure to hurry because we close submissions on March 31st!

I am also super excited about another project that's in the early planning stages.

Our socials are doing well, speaking of which, we're running a giveaway until March 31st. One grand winner will receive a signed paperback copy and two other winners will win an ebook!

We also have another super exciting announcement coming up soon, which I'm not at liberty to discuss right now.

Personal Life

I got to see a little bit of the planetary alignment and we had a lunar eclipse which was awesome!

Over spring back my family and I went on a little vacay to Texas. We walked around a college that I might want to go to, Barnes & Noble, swam, and hung out with family.

Near the beginning of the month, I finished and presented a thesis paper. If you'd like to read it you can do so here (it's about the United States XD).

Other than that, I've just been living life with my regular schedule. Youth group, church, school, 4H, and art class. We just started up a girls' Bible study, Made Worthy by Mary Margaret West, through our church so I'm super excited about that.

Recent books I've read & Music

I just finished Jake Rogers' Planet by Philip Wilder, which was an okay book. I personally don't read sci-fi too often so it wasn't like a book I probably wouldn't re-read. I did love the characters and the message of it.

I also got a Karen Kingsbury book recently while we were at Barnes & Noble! Comment down below and see if you can guess which one I got <3.

Around the Community

Voices of the Future Volume 5 was released not too long ago! And I think the sixth volume is underway!

A title reveal just happened for Kara Swanson too!

In Ignite, a young Phoenix girl born with the power of a dying sun came out in August of last year, and had quite the cliffhanger. But, there is finally more news about the sequel! I'm so excited to join in on @karaswansonauthor's title reveal to announce what the sequel is called!!

The sequel to Ignite is titled —INFERNO!

There isn't a blurb for the book yet but in in this fiery sequel to the explosive fantasy novel, we follow young phoenix Mara, born with the power of a dying sun blazing in her veins, as she tries desperately to survive a world collapsing around her — and determine who to trust as the people she loves start to fear that maybe the end of the world isn't coming… Maybe it's already here.

You've watched Mara's spark Ignite…but will anyone survive her Inferno, including Mara herself?

More details are coming, but this sequel is set to release Summer 2026 – with many updates this year.

Be prepared for Inferno, cuz you can grab Ignite while it's on sale right now! Have you read Ignite before?!

From God

The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. - - Hebrews 11:38-40

Closing

I can't believe that it's almost April! I will miss the snow but I am ready for nicer weather.

Thank y'all so much for reading and catching up with me! Talk to you all soon!
